Streamflow Method

"Heidi’s stream - flow method has an intuitively progressive guidance that allows me to discover a sense of full body freedom and interconnection. Through imagery and sensation it provides an in-depth look at how each part of the body, when examined clearly and simply, can be a catalyst for naturally occurring, complex movement. After taking the class, I feel new movement channels open in my body and a heightened awareness for what it means to be fully present in my own movement research." - Scott Fowler , Netherlands Dans Theater (dancer)

Testimonials
"The streamflow method, created and led by Heidi Vierthaler, has been for me one of the most healing and explorative tools to research and re-connect through my body. It puts me into a very real and truthful conversation with myself, where I get the chance at any given moment to listen, feel, follow or redirect." - Dario Menoya, Ballet Basel (dancer)
"Heidi inspires with such a warm, positive mindset where geeking out over details and approaching anything with curiosity is encouraged. You can leave judgements behind and expect to replace them with a genuine smile and newfound amazement." - Cristel de Frankrijker, Hofesh Shechter Company (dancer)
"I first met Heidi during a creation for NDT Summer Intensive in 2017. I look back on that first encounter as one of the most influential in my approach to movement and self research." - Austin Meiteen, Royal Ballet of Flanders ,NDT 2 (dancer)
"Working with Heidi always provides a new opportunity to explore one’s own artistic expression. Her openness and wealth of information always allows for deeper discoveries and richer sensations in one’s own practice and always leaves me looking forward to the next time we can work together." - Mason Manning, Ballet of Difference (Dancer -Actor)
"I have been greatly impacted by the approach towards her work. It has influenced the way I interpret movement in the fullest body I am living within, and further than the walls we are inside of. You just have to feel to see and discover what new doors open for you. The front of the room turns upside down, the collarbones trying to see your own armpits. The search is endless." - Nicky Daniels, Netherlands Dans Theater 2 , Danish Danstheater (Dancer)
"I call it an active “massage” that creates space in the joints and releases muscular tension" - Ekaterina Shushakova, Ballet Basel , Gothenburg Opera Danskompani , Pina Bausch Tanz Theater Wuppertal (dancer)
"As a company dancer, being challenged with performing a highly versatile repertoire within a short time frame, her classes give the opportunity for our body and minds to slow down and to go back to some of the basics of movement. The pleasure of moving." - Sara De Greef, Ater Balletto (Dancer)
"As a university level pre-professional student, the effects of Streamflow Method have been essential to my artistic growth. I am inspired by the boundary pushing and innovative physical solutions Streamflow provokes. With Heidi, we meet the art of dance at its essence and from there are encouraged to question it entirely." - Mia Bogs, Codarts Dance University- Dancer
"For us as instrumentalists, working with Heidi Vierthaler was an incredible experience. It introduced us to a completely new world and greatly helped us establish a strong connection not only to the stage but also to our own bodies. Moreover, it enhanced our perception of one another, deepening our connection as musicians." - Tetra Brass Band
"Stream flow feels like a highway for sensory stimulation. Heidi’s movement method is a play between the individuals instinctual movement pattern and the contradiction of that same instinct to further research different or unknown organic outcomes. Stream flow is dwelling in the present moment in order to discover more about oneself. I simply love it." - Ivo Mateus, Gothenburg Opera Danskompani , NDT 2, (dancer)
"Heidi Vierthaler is an extremely intelligent and sensitive leader. In connection with the rehearsals for the production “Love Me More,” she showed great empathy and understanding for the concerns of the performers, whether dancers or actors. She succeeded in engaging each individual participant with their unique physical vocabulary and backgrounds. She has a genuine interest in true interdisciplinary work in the performing arts, which is backed by great craftsmanship and at the same time always seeks space for new discoveries. She is a choreographer and coach who can create an atmosphere in very different settings, in which large, imaginative artistic spaces emerge. An institution that hires Heidi Vierthaler gains a great artistic visionary." - Alexander Angeletta, Ensemble Speaker at Schauspiel Köln
I met Heidi Vierthaler as a movement workshop leader in 2022 during a production at Schauspiel Köln, directed by Saar Magal, and I can report that her open, energetic, and purposeful approach immediately invited me to explore and expand my dance vocabulary. Creating a space where dancers and actors alike can focus on their individual movement experiments and actually benefit from each other requires a high level of sensitivity and artistic curiosity, which Heidi freely shares with her colleagues. It was enriching to have met Heidi, and although her involvement in the production was not as long as we would have liked, she was able to contribute with her work to making the final performance considerably more joyful. I hope to work with her again one day." - Rebecca Lindauer, Ensemble at Schauspiel Köln
