A new production beyond the limits of time and place by choreographer Heidi Vierthaler with Skånes Dansteaters Kompani.
A world premiere
Afterlife takes place in a vast, empty swimming pool suspended outside of time; the air is dense, and steam dissolves any physical certainty. The liminal space feels serene yet unstable and enigmatic, as if reality is only a lingering impression. Various individuals from different timelines enter this dimension, each carrying traces of past roles, duties, emotions; their presences overlapping and interrupting one another, making the pool vibrant with constantly changing scenarios.
As the group moves through this hollow dimension, identities blur and memories break into scattered sensations and echoes. New connections and forms begin to emerge, as if the pool strips away what once covered them, revealing something more essential beneath, or distorting every atom and story built across their life-chapters.
Afterlife is created in collaboration with the danceers of Skånes Dansteater.
